How to survive Blue Monday

17/1/2020

Comments

It’s that time of the year again; the holiday season is over, the weather is crap (at best!), our bank accounts are a little emptier than we would like,  and the routine of work has begun again. That means it’s time for Blue Monday: the most depressing day of the year. On Monday, January 20th,  we’re better off staying in bed and not coming out. Unfortunately, that’s  not possible for most of us, so here some tips how you can survive the day!
  1. Meditate
Start the day off  with a moment for yourself. Sit down, make yourself comfortable, set a timer on your phone for 10 minutes and closes your eyes. Try to be in the moment and feel the breaths you take. After this, you will kick this Monday some ass!
  2. Eat some chocolate
This will help you feel a little better, thanks to the natural  endorphins found in cocoa, the main ingredient in chocolate!
  3. Listen to music
Make a good playlist so you can dance your way through Blue Monday
(The FIZZ favourites: The Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling, Natasha Bedingfield – Unwritten, Luis Fonsi – Despacito and Major Lazer – Light It Up)
  4. Wear bright colors
Wear your yellow sweater, your orange skirt or your red sneakers.  Brighten up your day with your clothes!
  5. Be kind
It only takes a little smile, a compliment or a simple ‘hello’ to your neighbor make someone feel better, but more importantly (and yes, we can be a little selfish on this day) you will feel much better!
